...And so my 10-day adventure begins.
I started packing my things on a Monday night, and I keep repeating to myself that this is a "backpacking trip" but still, after five nights of packing, unpacking and re-packing of my things to bring, I end up bringing a Luggage bag, and two shoulder bags.
April 6, 2013, I went to the airport as early 3 am, to avoid the number of people lining up at the check in counter but when i got there, massive number of people are already piled up. I've waited until the boarding gate is open. During that time, I don't know what i was feeling, it was mixed emotions - nervous, sleepy, hungry and of course excited!
My flight is at 6 am, and the first leg of my 10-day adventure is the Lion City-Singapore.
After a 3-hour and 40 minute plane ride I arrived in Changi International Airport, I was amazed how clean and modernized the airport was.
As I lined up at the immigration, I was a bit worried because I forgot to ask the address of my friend who is staying in Singapore, good thing there is Wi-fi at the airport and I was totally saved.
So for this trip, I let my friend -Cherrie took charge. We took a train back to her flat in Geylang where I stayed overnight.
It started to rain after lunch so we had to wait for a while since my friend doesn't have umbrella, and after few hours of waiting we finally decided to go out and go to Resorts World Sentosa.

We took advantage of the drizzly weather and since we were thinking we were 'waterproof', we had lots of chances to take photos, photos and more photos. We roam around as if there's no tomorrow and never missed any opportunity to explore Singapore. Cherrie was so nice to show me around and even took me to Singapore's beaches.
After this tour, we went straight to Marina Bay Sands to watch some light show at the park and a fountain show in front of Marina Bay's mall then we had Chicken Rice for dinner.
After our mouth-watering dinner, we head to 'The Club' to satisfy MY sweet cravings (because Cherrie is not really into sweets).
We had chocolate buffet, i repeat CHOCOLATE BUFFET, i almost cried as soon as i see those tables full of different types of sweets. I can't help but try each stuff that catches my attention, which is almost everything and i felt a bit embarrassed because it seems like i haven't eaten dinner at all, but I just ignored that thought, who cares? we're talking about chocolates here. ( =^_^=)
After that blood sugar-friendly buffet, we decided to go bar hopping since the night is still young. We went back to my friend's flat first, drink a little and went to Clarke Quay and spend the rest of the night there drinking while watching other people get drunk. We went back home around 5 am and woke up around 10, we had lunch at home and started going to Bugis Street and looked around the area.
My friend let me try the 1sgd ice cream, it was awesome!
We head to Haji Lane where we had fun taking lots of photos because of the graffiti on the wall.
After multiple shots that we took, we head back to Geylang where we had our dinner, as for me, my last meal in Sg.
Of course my friend made sure that I'm gonna have the best for my last few hours in Singapore, we had the mouth watering Seafood Fried Rice and Cereal Prawns.

After we had this meal, we went back home to prepare and get my luggage then we went to the terminal near the Bugis street. I was feeling tired yet very happy. At last, I was able to visit her in SG before she leave, I really had a great time with her. It's more of a girls' day and night out! LOL
And so, my Singapore journey ended here as i took a bus going to my next destination- Johor Bahru, Malaysia. :)
Last photo before the bus leaves... ㅠㅠ |
** Ps.
Since I was in a 'backpacking mode and was in a very tight budget, as far as I remember, i just exchanged 70usd, and spend it mostly in buying sweets and other stuff (j.co donuts, ice cream, cocktail drink, bus/train ticket-reload, some key chain)
It's all possible because i have a very generous friend who supported me all the way! :)
