Thanks ViajerongPinoy for my Modern Nomad bag :* |
It was my second time in Port Barton but the excitement feels like it was my first.
There are vans now that travel directly from Puerto Princesa to Port Barton and vice versa. Imagine the convenience it gives to the tourist much more to the residents.
I arrived in Puerto Princesa at around 7 am. I went directly to where I can eat Chao Long.
And yes, I had the one with egg (special) plus extra noodles and the french bread with cheese.
Since I have a lot of time, I went to NCCC Mall, look around and kill some time since the next van available would be 1pm.
I went to terminal early and waited there until 2pm, I was told the next van will leave around 2.
After, 2 and a half hours, I finally arrived... in Port Barton. The weather was fair, but the sun was too shy to show up as it sets.
I met Kuya Jensen and his family. Then I checked-in at Kiwi Lodge which is managed by his brother Kuya Jerry.
I put down my stuff and went directly to Gacayan to have something to eat.
The next day, Sunday, we started the tour together with Kuya Jensen's family.
Kuya Jensen brought us to where the water is ooooh so clear!
First Stop - Twin Reef
Then we went to another snorkeling area - Aquarium Reef
We had our first Island stop at German Island.

This place is really beautiful!

Finally I get to take a pic of it with a beautiful weather.
Then we went to Exotic Beach,
where we had our lunch.
The kids also had more time to play and enjoy the water.
While I enjoy the sunny weather.
Then Kuya Jensen decided to go to the waterfalls- the Bigaho falls.
The trek took us only about 10-15 minutes.
The water is really refreshing.

I took pictures at Bigaho beach
Before we went ahead and had a stopover at LULI Island.

Sunset was not that perfect but still get to have some amazing shots.
This was really a great day to go exploring Port Barton's beautiful islands.
I had dinner at the new restaurant called Paella,
and of course I have to give a try their specialty- Seafood Paella.
The next day, Monday and yes it was my birthday! Kuya Jensen invited me to join again the tour. Yayyy!! atleast, I won't have to be alone. In our tour, 1 Spanish couple, (I forgot their names) 2 Americans (Amanda and Jessica) and 1 Filipino couple (Bong and Susan)
We went snorkeling again to 2 different site. Namely - Wide Reef and Aquarium Reef
Then had our lunch at German Island,
then the rain started to pour.
We waited some time before we head to Exotic Island.
I tried exploring the other side of the island since it's low tide
I well there are still a lot of dogs. In fact, they came running to me, but for some reasons I was not in panic, I felt like it was a friendly approach, they might have remembered me from last year? I'm not really sure. :))
We took our mandatory Group shot.

Then we head back to Port Barton,
I washed up and went to Gacayan for dinner.
I get to meet there the Filipino couple that I've met during the tour earlier. They tried Gacayan food too.
Then we said goodbye, they are heading back to Puerto Princesa ahead of me while I choose to stay at the peaceful side of Palawan.
I woke up late that day, Tuesday and decided to have late breakfast and early lunch around 11 but then suddenly the rain pours. I decided to stay at Kiwi,
And waited until around 2 pm, and since I was so hungry, I went to Gacayan and have my super late lunch.
I went back to Kiwi Lodge and asked kuya Jerry where can i spend my afternoon, he suggested to go to the overlooking location to get a glimpse of the whole Barton.
So, around 4pm, I started heading to the directions he told me.
I was very enthusiastic but then again in the middle of the trek, suddenly fear overpower me! hahahaha I instantly felt scared and thought of so many things so I just decided to go back.
I spent some of my time in the beach front doing nothing. I was enjoying the moment and thinking how much i would miss this beach.
Then I remembered to take some pictures.
Kuya Jensen then came from his tour, and told me that I can go to the other end of the beach,
So I started walking, but when I reached the end, it was already dark.
It made me realized that the beach front near the Kiwi Lodge has the best, finest sand compared to other part of Barton, besides not much boats are parked in the beach front unlike the other sides.
I had my dinner delivered from Gacayan - Sotanghon with soup. I kept myself busy eating the food so that I won't have to deal with the separation anxiety that is starting to crawl in me.
I woke up early, fixed my stuff and put it back in my bag. Then I met Kuya Jensen, said my goodbye to him.
The van came to pick me up around 10:30 am. And I am back in Puerto princesa around 1;30 pm.
I went back to the restaurant to eat Chao Long one more time then i went straight to the airport.
